BSSDC Programs

In our October meeting, Jason Penn will give a talk titled The Passion of a Gemstone Cutter.  Jason is well known for his lapidary work which is both distinctive and graceful. The beautiful cabochons he creates lend themselves well both to bead and metal work.  He carves wonderful stone beads as well.

 

 He started out on this path when he was 19 and has been a professional for about 15 years.  He began by making jewelry but gradually transitioned into working with stone.  He has taught classes in lapidary work.  He is a member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths and AGTA.

 

Be sure to attend this meeting to learn more about how a lapidary artist turns rock into the stones we love.  He will have pieces on hand for sale at the meeting.
