    The Recumbent Beader

The featured speaker for our August meeting is one of our own—Barbara Hecker, a longtime member of and moving force in the Bead Society of San Diego County.

Barbara’s passion for seed beads took root nearly 20 years ago.  From her favorite beading space—her bed—she has produced an amazing body of work. 

She will discuss her adventures in beading from early on to the present day.  She will share dilemmas over color and construction and the ways in which she resolved these issues.  Barbara will also talk about her sources of inspiration.  Best of all, she will illustrate her presentation with images of the pieces she has made through the years.  Don’t miss this glimpse into the creative life of an accomplished beader.
